Bibi Sharan Kaur performed the last rites of the two elder Sahibzadas and other Sikh warriors who had laid down their lives in the Battle of Chamkaur. While cremating the bodies, she was caught by the Mughals and was thrown in the funeral pyre of the Sahibzadas.

Congratulations to Armaandeep Singh from Gurdaspur for topping the all-India NDA exam!

A native of Bhandal village and the son of a Physics lecturer, he has chosen to join the Indian Air Force, with a dream of flying the Sukhoi-30MKI one day.

Armaandeep trained at the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI), where seven candidates ranked in the top 50 nationwide in the final results of the NDA and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2017.

Established by the Punjab government in 2011, the institute prepares young men for armed forces careers through the NDA.

Canadian student Abhay Singh Sachal has made history as the first Sikh recipient of the Walking Softer Young Leader Award for 2024-25.

At 22, Abhay’s organization, Break The Divide, addresses climate justice, eco-anxiety, mental health, and spirituality, empowering youth worldwide.

This prestigious award includes a $75,000 grant and is given to only 12 global leaders committed to environmental conservation. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Educational Psychology at the University of Regina, Abhay also advises on the Environment and Climate Change Canada Youth Council.

His leadership continues to inspire action and resilience in addressing the climate crisis.
