Instead, Russia got a free masterclass in resilience. Their economy flipped to a resilient mode factories running triple shifts, drones and artillery pouring out, black-market ingenuity on steroids.

They lost old customers? They found richer ones.

Lost SWIFT? Built their own pipelines East.

Casualties? They absorb them and keep advancing, metre by metre, like a heavyweight who turned our punches into protein shakes.

We, meanwhile, performed the European specialty.

Elegant self-harm.

Germany’s industrial crown is rusting, chemical plants idling, energy prices still triple what they were.

We replaced Russian gas with floating American molecules at premium rates and called it “independence.”

Our companies relocate to the US or China while we subsidise Ukrainian pensions with money we borrow from tomorrow.

Winter bills still sting, competitiveness is gone, and our leaders keep prescribing more of the medicine that’s making the patient sicker.

It’s not a boomerang.

It’s foolishness. It’s like trying to bankrupt your butcher by going vegan only to discover you’re now paying a fortune for imported kale while he opened a steakhouse down the street with your former suppliers.
