What would you have done if he told you he messed his knee up and can not fight? I imagine it would cause a shit storm. Probably the reason why he didn't tell you if in fact he did hurt his knee.

Think about all the time and changes that need to be done, just to host the fight. Not only that, all the training McGregor had to do for the fight. If in fact he hurt himself, he probably thought it was best not to say anything thinking he could fight through it.
