THEY’RE ALL DIGIMON??!

Holy shit, just when I thought we’d seen it all in Beatbreak, they throw in one last twist to blow my mind. On one hand, Wong being betrayed by Genjo and his other sycophants is poetic and beautiful. Him getting cold hearted, which he did to so many people for his selfish ambitions, is fitting. Would’ve liked a more drawn out painful end, but whatever. I reckon he gets healed at the end and spends the rest of his life in prison anyway.

The big twists are 1: Genjo being Sanzomon along with the other two being Digimon and 2: TOMORO GOT COLDHEARTED?? We know the MC has to somehow find a way out of that, but maybe he goes through a bunch of memories while he’s in the pseudo coma before the group saves him? It’s so cruel to have he and Asuka finally brought back together, just for Tomoro to now be the one getting coldhearted, Asuka would die to protect his little brother so I know if he breaks out of the mind control spell, he’s going to have a breakdown 🥹

Only a few more episodes left, sad to think about it, but we’re poised for an amazing end to this.

P.S really cool that Sanzomon and Gokuwmon are both journey to the west inspired characters too. This also ties back into the GIFT arc where we saw how Digimon were blending into human society and killing people. Glad they didn’t totally forget about that subplot
