Never a CNN contributor. Not a former comms director for any random pol. Author of 0 books about anything. Only 6/8ths as clever and funny as I think I am.
Everyone dunking on NPR because they published fake news on accident but I think it’s a welcome break from their usual practice of publishing it on purpose.
@JohnKir08660882@RBPundit 🎯 They tell people they can't have AC because it will destroy the planet. In reality, Europe as a whole can't handle the extra electrical load. But hey, at least they got rid of all that dirty nuclear power and can buy oil from Russia. That is stupidity on a grand scale.
History started last week, so there's no way of knowing whether socialist economic policies will work. We just have to try it out on a short-term basis and see what happens. Then we can have a conversation about why it did work, in spite of the results.

Am I the only person who has no strong feeling about the rent freeze other than “cool to try out a policy like this on a short-term basis so we can test if it actually works?” My only hope is we all learn some important information from this experiment and are honest about the results, whatever it brings.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I knew about ITIN but had no idea illegals could use it. That's good information.
As for the dollar amounts and number of users, I'll dig into that later. Something tells me it's nowhere near as many as the think tanks are reporting. Maybe it is though. Once we have a solid number there, we can compare it to the amount of benefits they take from us. That will be good information too. Thanks for advancing that conversation as well.
This is the kind of stupid-on-its-face absurdity that drives me up the wall.
First of all, Europe doesn't have the electrical capacity for it. 48 million window air conditioners would tap about 20% of their combined power generation. The real issue here is that they have pissed away their energy independence, and would rather that no one notice, so they throw up global warming and all kinds of other crap as an excuse as to why the plebs can't have a basic human comfort 2-3 days a year.
Second, the Earth's atmospheric mass is 5,150,000,000,000,000,000 (5.15 quintillion) kilograms. 48 million window air conditioners running full blast for 24 hours, if they could power them, (they can't) would produce 9.2 trillion BTUs. It would take roughly 300 times that many A/C units to raise the temperature of the Earth's atmosphere by only 1/100th of one degree Fahrenheit.
Said another way, it would take 14.4 billion A/C units to make even a barely measurable difference in the Earth's air temperature. With every last person on the planet running two A/C units, it couldn't even make a perceptible dent in air temperature. Even if it did, the 1/100th of a degree of heat would dissipate within seconds.
Forgive me for dumping logic all over your religion. I just get sick of the "believe the science" crowd making big emotional pronouncements that have no basis in fact. This obsession with global warming takes away valuable resources from discussing actual environmental and conservation issues.
@ChrisMartzWX
@Atlusfox1@SaltyGoat17 How do illegals pay taxes? Please show me the steps they go through to pay payroll taxes or file tax returns. Don't just call me stupid and say, "everyone knows." Show your work. I'm very interested to see it.
@ianmSC@PiperK You gotta keep up, man. We passed the 14 billion mark an hour ago. The death toll will be 30 billion after the next edition of The Atlantic.
@ianmSC Very true. It's also worth remembering that they wouldn't care if someone had $2 trillion, so long as they had a (D) by their name. "Our trillionaires are cool."
@RBPundit I used to resist the notion that leftism is a mental illness. No more. When you see people that far around the bend, it's pretty hard to deny that there is a whole bushel basket of crazy on the left.
@DrunkRepub Step 1: Labour realizes Starmer is an anchor and removes him.
Step 2: They choose a "reform PM" who, on closer examination, is exactly like Starmer.
Step 3: Announce "reforms" to the grateful public.
Step 4: Keep right on doing the same damn things.
