I remember my college coach telling me to dribble to the baseline and jump out of bounds to throw this drift pass for the hammer action 🔨
I thought he was crazy
Then is worked... again, and again
As a defensively minded coach. I coach by situations. We run a No Middle Man to Man. The breakdown is usually.
1. No middle (Early/Late help)
2. Baseline Drive ( Early/Late Help)
3. Scramble
4. Switching/ Deny
5. Switching/ Front post
6. Baseline Double Post
7. Ice
Must Add Action

My 3 main goals for “most” summer league games with HS teams, (besides evaluating talent), were:
🔹Establishing a Running Game.
🔹Introducing our Defensive Concepts & Philosophy.
🔹Teaching the Importance of Rebounding at both ends.
That got us a base for the fall practices.
Stationary ball handling should be part of the daily vitamins your team takes yearly
Spend 5 minutes at the beginning of every practice sharpening your handle
It’s amazing how many players actually get worse during the season
