Why should you watch Slow Horses?
Let me tell you straight.I really liked this series. A lot At first I thought it would be a normal spy show like Bond or Mission Impossible. But no.
This is the story of spies who failed. MI5 dumped them in a dirty little office called Slough House. No respect there, no big missions. Just a bunch of washed-up people.Their boss is Jackson Lamb. This character alone is worth watching. He’s dirty, lazy, always with a cigarette and a drink, doesn’t even dress properly. But his mind is sharp.
Gary Oldman played him so well that you’ll hate him and respect him at the same time. There’s no glamorous action here. There’s tension, mind games, and dark jokes. You’ll laugh in some scenes and feel scared in others. The story isn’t simple, it’s smart.
Every season has a new case, but the characters already feel familiar. Everyone’s acting is strong. No overacting. The dialogues feel natural and sharp. If you don’t like those typical hero-heroine spy dramas and want something more real, a bit messy, a bit funny, and a bit serious, then watch Slow Horses. You won’t waste your time.
I watched it and I’m happy. You should try it too.
I believe “SHAMPOO” and “CONDITIONER” should be the two biggest words on the bottle. Not size 8 font on a matching background like I’m supposed to solve a fcking puzzle in the shower.
Compared to last year's 15 and 2024's 22 (cheated by picking small books), this year I've read just THREE books so far. Three! And even those are short books I picked so I could read something! Not having the time or the headspace to read is the biggest bummer of this year.
