True bravery is when you're sick and feeling low that you decide to listen to Radiohead. No Surprises that I was Climbing up the walls like a Paranoid Android. Lucky that Everything in it's Right Place.
1997. Natalie Imbruglia’s cover of ‘Torn’. A cultural phenomenon. Hairdressers inundated with requests for pixie cuts. Cargo trouser sales soared. MTV had it on repeat. Guess you had to be there! @notgwendalupe@8090Throwbacks@Phil3Pan@UKBackintheDay2
@nicolasasommo Sucks! My run streaks gone since last three weeks. Hamstring is not getting better. Only doing core strengthening and stretching. My physio has forbidden me from overthinking and using Gemini to diagnose myself!
Rewatching Tobey Maguire's Spiderman Series and its so damn f good!!! The later spiderman (men?) movies have not felt so personal as Raimi's takes. Beyond the webslinging, it's also just the tale of man struggling with life. Beyond nostalgia!
@JohnGoldman Okay mine just started tightening and seizing up 6 miles into an easy run. Thot I'd run it off as it felt like a cramp. A week later it's still tight. Gonna take rehab seriously now. Take care and focus on recovery.
First 250+ mileage month. Never thought I'll be able to run this much injury free. Hopefully, will be able to stack some 300k months over the next few months. Long way to go!
@HankFrank Hank, how do you structure for marathon training blocks. Do you continue focussing on base building? Or its more race pace focussed workouts? What is the minimum "base maintenance" mileage ratio for your weekly mileage?
Challenged by my mentor to get out of my comfort zone and try hitting 80km mileage this week. Managed 78.5k. Surprised how the body held up. Real challenge is to main this for the next 8 weeks. Onwards and upwards!
The fixation with Indians producing more babies reflects a selective reading of demographic and development theory--one that foregrounds the economic utility of population growth while overlooking its human development prerequisites.
1. India is home to an estimated 37–39 million stunted children under five, and more than 21 million suffering from wasting.
2. Over 80 crore people depend on free ration for sustenance.
3. More than 100 million Indians are estimated to go to bed hungry every night (inability to afford square meals).
4. Millions of households are one medical emergency away from financial ruin.
5. Women in extremely vulnerable labour markets undergo mass hysterectomies in order to avoid losing workdays and wages.
Given the above reality, commentary on sustaining a population decline rate through more children is grossly misleading policy talk that sees humans as consumers, labour, tax payers and GDP contributors.
Any discussion on sustaining fertility rates, therefore, must be preceded by targets of dignity, opportunity, and well-being for the existing populations as the precondition.
A trolley is about to hit 5 people laying on the track
You can redirect the car, but the other track has not yet reached regulatory approval or completed its 1 year environmental testing period, so operating a train car on it is a violation of transit regulations
What do you do?
@sabeer My solution is to use noise cancelling earbuds while out in the city. It blocks 90% of the sounds and you can still hear some stuff for general awareness coz everything's so damn loud.

@darthdevi There's a line in the song Affirmation by Savage Garden where they say- 'I believe your parents did they best job they knew how to do'. If your best is not good enough, you end up doing more emotional damage than if you didn't try. It's all about doing right whatever you choose.
Feel the Heat issue needs a more nuanced take. Yes, our cities need to continue heavy development. Yes, we need more trees. Yes, we've always had hot summers. Yes, concretization causes more urban heat island effect or whatever that is. Yes, we need more sustainable development.
