@AJamesMcCarthy This is what makes lunar transits so fascinating. You’re catching something moving at orbital speed against an object nearly 400,000 km away, and the whole thing depends on being in the right place at the right second. Really impressive shot.
@konstructivizm Mars never stops being strange. Seeing a dust storm on that scale really shows how active the planet still is, even without oceans or life as we know it.
@konstructivizm This is the kind of thing that makes space feel impossible to judge by eye. You see a galaxy like M94 and it feels tiny because it’s so far away, but then comparing its apparent size to the Moon completely changes your perspective. Also, 82 hours of exposure is unreal!
@konstructivizm It’s wild that Voyager 2 only had one flyby of Neptune, yet still gave us details like this. Those bright cloud streaks make the atmosphere look so much more active and complex than you’d expect from a planet that far out.
@konstructivizm It’s crazy to think a single volcano could reshape the landscape on that kind of scale. Mars really has some of the most dramatic features in the Solar System.
