@lori_liguori @paonesl @CPCOofficial I agree that an Equity and Inclusion Plan with specific goals and steps is necessary. We need to represent the diverse cultures in our schools in a host of ways.

@paonesl @CPCOofficial In my Infographic, I found that 1 in 4 Canadian students have a low sense of belonging in school. Also,1 in 5 students expressed having a very low participation rate in schools and that their voice was not heard. These numbers are too high. Every child needs to feel valued.

@paonesl @CPCOofficial We can do this through making the change progressively. Word will catch on, and we cannot give into the status quo. Each school must use the curriculum to suit every child’s needs. Growing in Success and Educational policies call for inclusivity and equity in education.

@paonesl It is not something that is addressed once in a while. Rather, it is a daily intention, where students do not have to leave their experiences and life at the front door of the school in order to fit in. We want them to share their stories and be proud of who they are.@paonesl

@paonesl @CPCOofficial You see confidence building and students showcasing their talents. Visual, auditory and kinesthetic approaches are used.
It is a positive energy that encompasses the room.
Various resources are available and used in the room that speak to student experiences, life and cultures.
