Yesterday’s workshop was built around patient experiences & covered skills to support compassionate care: Recognising behaviours that lead to complaints; modifying actions to improve outcomes; active listening & empathy @JacquiWilko1@PreceptorshipST@HIOWH_NHSFT@AndrewStrevens
Crucial when considering psychological safety is preparing actors for their sessions in healthcare education. Role portrayal, safety nets, audience mix are just some of the areas covered. Underlying this, are our ethical principles which align with the @ASPiHUK standards.
Great discussions! Thanks so much @annelies_lovink for sharing this paper with us all. And thanks @ASPiHUK for running these really well attended journal clubs.

‘Becoming Simulation Faculty’ was an excellent e-learning @NHSE_WTE
As an @ASPiHUK accredited organisation, we felt it important to work our way through this training.
Well done to the many creators!
Delighted to be part of the oversight group of this great training developed by @NHS_WTE Becoming Simulation Faculty - elearning for healthcare https://t.co/rSomObEAvt
Twelve years of improving trauma care of children and of involving children themselves. The benefits to society, clinicians and children is massive. It’s a true joy to train the children, work collaboratively and believe - from the outset.
@katepryde@DrEricaDF@CChaseUk
Benefits in ‘real’ children portraying injured patients at regional trauma team training today:
- getting the child’s perspective
- educating the children in safety
- encouraging future workforce
and there’s more....

We are so lucky to be part of this session!
Training our #childsimulatedpatients for their roles for the regional trauma day next week @pier_network@CChaseUk@SotonChildHosp
We worked on role portayal and giving objective feedback to healthcare teams - thinking about what what they can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.
We’ve engaged with children in #simulation for many years now and - with the children - we’ve developed an ethical framework based on:
-Autonomy
-Justice
-Nonmaleficence
-Beneficence
What matters to patients and relatives?
Can simulation help?
Our work with @HIOWH_NHSFT will be presented at #ASPiH24 in Edinburgh on November 4th 13.15
This transformative simulation is coproduced with service users.

Great catchup with @julie_trans discussing the expansion of our transgender and gender diverse workshops. These ‘Illumination and Awareness’ sessions have been immensely impactful for students and registrants.
