@seyitaylor πββοΈ me too!
but why not start from where existing web2 problems - increasing CAC due to third party cookie deprecation, data privacy regulation - rather than wait for the masses to come onchain, since market cycles are notoriously difficult to predict correctly?
@sno_mis@divine_economy@BrianRetford How would a publisher learn enough about a user's online history to inform brands to bid on that ad space?
if browsing/click data is in zk-compatible format, zk can answer yes/no or range, but that data isn't enough to allow ML models to classify a user into a marketable segment
@sno_mis@charbrew@divine_economy@BrianRetford , reduce fraud (if proof of personhood is implemented), while improving user privacy.
Brands, adtech, martech will go where the money is. If you can offer higher precision, lower cost targeting, you can get them to adopt zk standards and move off of Chrome-safari duopoly
@sno_mis@charbrew@divine_economy@BrianRetford Really cool how we got to a similar endgame independently.
IMO this browser should passively emit an anon identifier per website and store attribution data that can be verified by adtech tools.
This would reduce CAC (allow for deterministic targeting)...
@divine_economy One more flippening - when/if objects will move onchain. Otherwise, user generated advertising is based on users owning speculative assets
Iβm more bullish on changing web2 attribution and tracking to use zk and proof of personhood, reducing CAC and fraud, increasing privacy
@chejazi This relies on the premise that objects we purchase and actions we take will move onchain, which IMO is many years away.
This also takes a simplistic view on data, assuming it's ~= ownership, thus NFTs. But attribution, programmatic advertising, and ad retargeting need solving
@windump@divine_economy My take is it'll be a new standard that could replace cookies, and will be adopted by the adtech attribution tools first, then DSPs can use this for improved targeting
@Treggs6@sno_mis@divine_economy I've been exploring the adtech <> crypto space for the last few months. Happy to share a couple articles I've written about potential opportunities, happy to DM
