Uganda has secured a GS1 global product barcode, enabling unique identification of its goods worldwide. This boosts export traceability and strengthens Uganda’s global market presence. GS1 is an ISO standard for sharing product data among trading partners.
Chairman @OdrekRwabwogo shares a timely piece in @newvisionwire highlighting why unity and economic focus must guide us through the election season. He urges Ugandans to stay focused on jobs, exports and unite to keep moving forward for the good of our economy and global image.

Speaking during the Nigeria-Uganda Trade Dialogue Webinar yesterday, Mr. Morris Ongwech, @UG_Airlines Cargo Manager, encouraged Ugandan exporters to improve the quality of product packaging and increase their cargo volumes for better freight rates.
“PACEID engaged Uganda Airlines to provide more competitive freight rates for our exporters, thus the price discount to promote the Uganda and Nigerian markets, among other target markets.”
" I want to thank H.E @KagutaMuseveni for sometimes supporting our crazy hypothesis because we want to adapt to a new changing world that locks us out"
Last month, The Simons Uga Ltd, a Ugandan vanilla exporting company shipped 10MT of vanilla extraction grade to the United States, valued at $400,000. This marks a pivotal moment for the company as it continues to expand its footprint in the lucrative North American market.
The CEO @Simon4Musisi is grateful to PACEID, for connecting The Simons Uga Ltd with its U.S. off-taker. "PACEID is helping us navigate the complexities of international trade and establish strong relationships with buyers in the U.S. @paceidug has supported us since 2022 and its involvement in growing Uganda’s exports has catapulted our sales in the US."
Simon anticipates that the company will export over 40MT of vanilla to the U.S. market in 2025.
Uganda can become a sourcing center for organically grown agricultural export products to the United States & other markets due to their health benefits. That is why we set out to fix things such as market research to determine trends, and most importantly to avoid blind trade.
PHOTOS: While in Serbia, the Ugandan delegation visited the 2nd @Ugandaconnectt hub in Belgrade Downtown Svetozara Markovica 52. Run by Uganda’s Trade Representative, @STOBratislav, these hubs have generated much-needed awareness about Ugandan heritage, the quality and diversity of Ugandan products.
"We look forward to increased cooperation to enhance trade/investment in various sectors. We also hope that our cooperation will address the challenges faced by many of our small and medium enterprises where many of our people are employed." Gen. Mbadi

On Friday, a comprehensive agreement will be signed in the southern city of Nis, Serbia, focusing on roasted coffee and other Ugandan products entering the Serbian market.
Rwabwogo noted that he arrived in Belgrade to find key representatives from Uganda’s @MoWT_Uganda, @UgandaCAA, @UgandaMFA, @mtic_uganda led by Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Gen. Wilson Mbadi, all present in a city that was relatively unknown to many Ugandans two years ago.

What a wonderful evening at the first Uganda Connect Hub in southern Europe! We commissioned this in July last year, and now we see there are three locations.
We thank @STOBratislav our Trade Representative for this great work. On Friday in the southern city of Nis, we will sign a comprehensive commitment with Serbia on roasted coffee and other products for this market!
I arrived this evening to find the Ministry of Works, CAA, Ministry of Trade led by Gen Mbadi, and Foreign Affairs- all represented in a city many in our country hardly knew about two years ago.
Uganda has been buying expensive hardware from this country for a long time. There comes a time when a generation asks the right questions on market and growth strategy! What do I sell to the world in return for the imports we get?
Uganda, with PACIED leadership, is vigorously asking this question, and we are getting heard.
I ask all people of goodwill to use these market moves as a new way to create jobs for young people through enterprise, better prices for farmers, and organized production aggregation for buyers.
What was most pleasant was finding our honorary counsel to Greece, Ms Villi Alexandrakis here. She too wants a trade Hub in Athens.
HE @KagutaMuseveni at Nakasero Kampala gave “new names” to our visiting US delegation. The delegation is on a product offtake exploration and investment tour in the country.
Delegation leader Robert Blackwell from Chicago became “Oketcho”, (one born in a rainy season),
Jorgen Peter from New York became ‘Tindyebwa’, which means “I never forget your good works”
Hope Ryle became “Ngaanzi” which means star and
Micheal Pratt from Los Angeles was named MUKASA or keeper of the lake!
The President named 12 people and autographed his book, The Mustard Seed, a copy for each. The exploration is beyond offtake but also a cultural exploration for us to understand each other. #PACBF24

We welcomed Her Excellency Jessica Alupo, Uganda's Vice President, to open the first Panafrican Congress Business Summit and exhibition at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.
Her Excellency Hon @jessica_alupo shares an ideological and philosophical worldview with me.
In the 1990s we worked with, debated, and grew with a mutual friend who passed away 17 years ago.
The VP represented HE @KagutaMuseveni at the event, and the message she read left our trade allies assured about support to businesses and our good relationship with the US government for the last 60 years.
I thank her for making time to come interact with our food off-takers and investors from the US, the Balkans, and China. #PACBF24
