@johnnytimpson1 Agree that HoL should scrutinise the Bill, rigorously, but it is supposed to be a revising chamber, not a body there to just to make its own decisions, view of HoC should be respected. Instead a handful of them exploited procedure to time out the Bill instead of discussing it.
A hugely important day, and long overdue. Sensibly and compassionately debated, giving those people affected the right to choose a dignified end to their lives.

This Friday, MPs will vote on the assisted dying Bill.
It all comes down to this - Tag your MP and ask them to vote yes.
If it passes, the Bill continues its journey in the House of Lords - if not, it falls.
This could be our last chance to secure a compassionate law.
Heading to parliament to stand with people and families who have taken up the assisted dying campaign because we have no choice. The status quo is unacceptable. What’s happening in the House of Commons today is another step on the road to compassionate choice for dying Britons.
Help us spread the message: With just 48 hours until the next assisted dying debate, it's crucial to flood social media with support for law change.
MPs must hear our call: When we cannot stay, let us choose how we go.
One click can make a difference. Tag your MP in the comments.

@KevinPMeagher Of course not. I just happen to spend most of my time living in NI with people who live and work there and who know the place. They are also very used to and weary of being patronised by people based in England who think they know NI better than them. Invariably, they don’t.
Assisted Dying Bill will be back for votes on Friday 25 April
Leadbeater's written to MPs as new updated version of bill is published today
Says it's still the strongest in the world and has come out "safer and more effective" from committee stage
Law is "unjust and indefensible" as it is
Vital goverment stays neutral, she says
Changes in committee:
- doctors can't discuss AD without discussing other options
- removal of high court judges in favour of panels
- disability advisory board included
- annual reports of AD progress
- full review of law within 5 years
- doctors will have to have specific training on mental capacity, domestic abuse, and control
- now implemented in four years not two
- no one eligible on the basis of mental health or a disability alone
She admits further changes are possible @LBC
Today the Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer joined me in thanking colleagues for their hard work on the Terminally Ill Adults Bill committee, and confirmed that if Parliament passes the Bill, the Government will respect the will of the House & ensure its safe implementation.
@_OliviaBlake, Breaking news! The Royal College of GPs has made the sensible and pragmatic decision to drop its opposition to assisted dying.
Like many of your constituents, I support law change for terminally ill adults. Please stand with us and support this vital reform.
So good to see the inspirational @NathanielD93744 in Parliament today. The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill would give people like Nat choice and autonomy. At the heart of this debate are real people like him❤️

My thanks to all who have shared their thoughts on the Choice at the End-of-Life bill that I am proposing in Parliament. It is good to see most people are able to have an honest, compassionate and respectful debate on this hugely important subject which means so much.
The front pages we’ve been willing into existence!! #AssistedDying is in the headlines because how we die matters. We are in a historic moment and we must ensure those with conditions like Multiple Sclerosis and Huntington’s disease are not forgotten!
