Politics in Kenya is a strange, dirty game. Recall what Junet Mohammed said of Ruto in 2022 — the insults, the venom, the name-calling. Compare that to Gachagua’s criticism today. You’ll find Gachagua is, by far, the more modest Ruto critic. Yet loyalty shifts, and memory conveniently fades!

What began as a lighthearted viral moment in Meru has now taken an emotional turn after Kenyans traced and visited the home of the now-famous “kwa mbae” child.
The child, who captured hearts online for his confusing yet confident directions to a lost bodaboda rider, recently received visitors moved by his viral fame. However, during the visit, it emerged that the family is facing a serious crisis, the boy’s brother is currently admitted in the ICU battling throat cancer.
According to those who visited, the child’s condition is critical, and plans are underway to transfer him to Nairobi for specialized treatment.
Touched by the family’s situation, Kenyans on social media have come together in a show of solidarity, mobilizing financial support to help cater for hospital bills and facilitate the transfer.
