Andy Burnham looks set to be the next Prime Minister of the UK following Keir Starmer stepping down.

This begs the most important question of all - what would this mean for Wales?

Obviously no one knows for certain but I think we are likely to see a Prime Minister who is a lot more in favour of expanding and strengthening devolution.

Mr Burnham has been known to support the principle that anything that is devolved to Scotland should also be offered to Wales.

This would mean power over rail, policing, justice and the Crown Estate coming to Cymru if the Senedd wanted it.

It would be also really interesting to see how a more pro-devolution PM would engage with Wales' Plaid First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth.
