It suited the USA for decades to keep the EU relatively weak and dependent.
The question is should they have seen a more coercive USA admin coming?

It’s not interesting, it’s fascinating, I voted for Brexit, picked a battle I couldn’t win, due to magnitude, the EU in a battle not of their choosing can win, which would change everything…..

The basis of the same laws that Trump and Israel now break.

@Stefi1774 Yeah, but our modernity is far too easy and entitled for our leaders to be able to sell a path of short term pain or privations, mainly because they’ve broken the social contract that used to bind us, in communality and commonality.

But Trump doesn’t do truth, clarity, distinction, though there’s a certitude in his deranged delusion, that of the madman’s.
None of that matters though, he’s shown Europe’s leaders that they have but one choice to make, to go all in on a united European superpower, and time is of the essence.
The, their, and our focus should be on nothing less, we should’ve acted thus decades ago, that hindsight and the difficulties it brings to us now re security and in some respects sovereignty, should be driving our present foresight.
Trump is the enemy, but NATO has always only ever been about being a vehicle for USA foreign policy, all he’s done, is to finally provide that clarity.

I do hope this changes soon, and that the right (courageous and honest) leaders are chosen to change all this. But I see very little sign of it….

The proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist org, was always going to be found as disproportionate by the High Court.
Keir Starmer knew that, if he as wasn't PM, he'd be representing PA in the Courts.
It was pure deflection, from his refusal to enforce UK law as it stands.
