"If the number of rhinos is the main measurement of success, then it would be hard to argue with Hume’s model." Except that, as well written article explains, the model didn't work. - https://t.co/Z4kZlsqP7w - Will any model work without trade? #WildlifeEconomy
@FrancisVorhies The logical answer is to lift the trade ban. Rhino horn is a truly renewable resource, whose dollar value could benefit not just rhino conservation, but critically, habitat expansion and thus African conservation as a whole.
@tSasRolfes@nickhedley Must be one of the most renewable (and valuable ) resources available to conservation. The ban is an almost cynical device designed to preserve the CITES status quo.
"The only way to curb rhino poaching is to legalise the trade in rhino horn", says Pelham Jones, chairperson for the Private Rhino Owners’ Association https://t.co/qXe9aw6yGI
