As with every good detective story, Reilly has several issues to juggle. Meaning there’s plenty of intrigue to go along with the action. This includes his past and his time as a superhero.

Spid-Noir is this cool collision of comic book story and noir crime thriller. Masterfully brought to life using both old and new filming styles and techniques. While Cage is perfectly Cagey as Ben Reilly. I particularly enjoyed his ‘off his game’/mildly inebriated fighting style.

I was a little disappointed when Spider-Man Noir, my favourite of all the multiverse Spideys - after Spider-Ham, of course - didn’t show up in Across the Spider-Verse. But I’m also very pleased that this rather different Spidey got his own spin-off show.
