It’s with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and heartbreaking passing of Richard who has left us far too soon.

To know Richard was to love him. His warmth, kindness, laugh and infectious spirit touched the lives of everyone who crossed his path. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, whose bright light shone in the lives of those around him.

His unexpected passing has left a hole in our hearts and in the lives of his beautiful young family, who now face this unimaginable loss.

Many of our family and friends have kindly reached out, asking how they can show their love and support. We’ve set up a digital card below where you can leave messages of comfort, upload your favourite photo of Richard and if you wish, make a financial contribution to support his family during this incredibly difficult time.

Our family was invited to be guest speakers at a lunch & learn session at @decjuba head office about our lived experience with Hayden’s brain tumour journey with a focus on mental health on behalf of the @GoodFriAppeal It was emotional given Hayden’s recent relapse but highly beneficial for raising awareness. @decjuba is an extraordinary philanthropic brand. It’s with a heavy heart that I let you know the hospital has been monitoring a new growth that was deemed concerning, last week we received the devastating news that Hayden has relapsed and a new tumour is growing.

Despite it being inoperable, the fact that it is treatable is a glimmer of hope. Hayden will resume chemotherapy as recommended by the oncologist when the tumour begins to put pressure on his brain.
