So good to see @alexdeminaur win to tie up the ATP cup in Sydney. He is a definite role model for future players and people in general. Good Luck for 2022!
One of the many joys of learning languages is that there’s always something else to discover. You never need to know it all. Be it new words, music, dance, food, books, films, friendships, experiences, outlooks or ambitions, languages will take you in plenty of new directions.
You don't learn a language in isolation. You'll learn a little geography, art, music, history, sociology, sport, drama, religion, politics, literature, culture and a lot more about humanity. All of that makes you even better at whatever else you love and do.
Another thing to remember with all this @ScottMorrisonMP Scotty no friends in Rome and Glasgow, is that many of the delegates speak different languages and can converse with 3 or 4 more people.
He has only 1 language.
That’s it. #languagescount
If you’ve just started learning French, congratulations! You’ve unlocked a new level in life. You’re seeing a world beyond your own. You might learn Spanish, Mandarin or Russian next. Fun, food, friendship & future opportunities, there’s more to discover with another language.
Learn another language & you're gaining friendship, solidarity, understanding, empathy & balance. You'll see someone else's points of view, realise that we're all in it together but sometimes see things from different perspectives. Another language is a powerful tool.
So true, every year I have people say this and think I have some super power to speak different languages but anyone can learn and achieve in languages and understanding the world around them.
Are language teachers the only ones who hear “I took X years of your language & only remember (insert basic phrase here)?” Do Calc teachers hear it? Or history teachers? Physics teachers? If not, why are we the only ones who hear it? 🤔
@sanazreika4@YasminBhamjee@SCLanguages No need for thanks. They have worked hard this term. I am just happy that they had a good time this morning spending time outside experiencing different activities to look after themselves and relax a little. 😊
This beautiful young lady is in my class and I’m so happy she had a good morning with the self-care package designed for my Italian students to engage with using different aspects of well-being as well as the Italian language #selfcare#studentwellbeing#teacherlife
