The system favors people who have the means to expand their wealth. Kanye has his wealth because he branched out into other avenues because of his music career.

The average person isn't guaranteed his kind of wealth if they try to do the same thing, that's a fact. Besides, what do you earn from defending someone as greedy as him?

Leaving him alive with no powers prolongs his suffering even if it means there's a chance someone would help him.
