The Fed lost access to private payroll data from ADP after the firm ended its data-sharing agreement following a speech by Fed Governor Christopher Waller in August. The dataset, covering 20% of U.S. private workers, had helped gauge labor conditions amid the government shutdown that suspended official data releases. Chair Jerome Powell has urged ADP to restore access, but efforts so far have failed.
