@nowthatsmint SimplePie has been built in to WP for a while as fetch_feed(), it has now been updated to 1.3.

SimplePie 1.3 should be released in the next week, barring any major bugs turning up.

The master branch now requires PHP 5.2+ across the board (previously, we had a mix of minimum versions stated).

All tests including the old-style are now passing except for one (due to entities being encoded by the sanitizer).
