"Now Meta and CRED have our data."
And they'll probably sell my credit card statement to advertisers, right?
What if I told you Visa and Mastercard have been monetizing spending intelligence for years?
Most people think card networks make money when you swipe.
That stopped being true a long time ago.
In FY2025:
• Visa generated $40B in revenue
• Mastercard generated $32.8B in revenue
More importantly:
• Visa generated ~$25.7B from Services and Value-Added Services.
• Mastercard generated ~$13.3B from Value Added Services alone
That's roughly 40-50% of their revenue coming from intelligence, analytics, and data-driven products.
Think about that.
The most valuable part of a payment network is increasingly not the payment.
It's the intelligence layer built on top of it.
Now look at CRED.
Visa sees Visa transactions.
Mastercard sees Mastercard transactions.
Amex sees Amex transactions.
CRED potentially sees all of them together.
In other words, it has the potential to build a unified spending graph of India's affluent consumers.
But does that mean CRED, Visa or Mastercard can sell your personal transaction history?
No.
Indian regulations are quite clear.
Credit card data is sensitive personal data.
Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP), RBI and PCI rules require consent, security and strict controls around usage.
Personal data selling is strictly prohibited.
The value is not in selling your statement.
The value is in selling aggregated intelligence.
That is the business.
Not leaking personal data.
The real story is simple:
Your data is already monetized at multiple layers.
CRED is just trying to build a cleaner, higher-value version of that graph.
1st Long trip in my XEV9e
That’s not very important now
3 EVs did 758kms in a single go!
2 Curvv EVs n a 9e
Total stoppage were like
Lunch break / late evening snacks / dinner
So when did the car charge??!!
We had food so the cars!
Reached BBSR where other cars joined me while waiting did a top up of 11.35 kWh then the journey started! After almost 200 kms we stopped so that both Curvv got some top up
Then again after another 120 kms we stopped for lunch with 8% SOC and all 3 cars were plugged in, 2 in Jio 1 in Tata power Srikakulum and almost topped up another 26.6 kWh SOC 46% and started further
Reached Anakapalli with 13% SOC after 140 kms could top up another 20% n started back with 34% as the current was gone and thundering started
After another 80 kms got a 90 kw charger so we had our dinner and car go fully charged to 100%
So our trip 758 kms completed with 77% SOC left
Then after a day trip started back with 52% SOC topped up to 97% while breakfast and reached Srikakulum with 37% left
Charged to 100% during lunch and reached home completing 450kms with 7% left
Completed a 1566 kms round trip 3 EVs no extra breaks !
What else do u need ?

Unpopular Opinion: Accor Points are slightly overrated 👀
Yes, Accor points are easy to value at ~INR 2 per point.
But the bigger question is- Are Accor hotels worth the rates they charge?
Some examples from my recent stays / searches:
🎓 Novotel Phuket: ~INR 66K for 3N stay (Paid via Points)
🎓 Sofitel Krabi: ~INR 48K for 2N stay (Paid via Points)
🎓 Singapore hotels (Pullman, Fairmont, Swissotel): Range b/w 25k to 30k per night
When I compare these prices with alternate hotels available on SmartBuy, iShop, Hopper etc. I often find:
✅ Better net rates
✅ More hotel choices
✅ 20-35% effective returns via credit card rewards
So while Accor points do give INR 2 value, I'm not always convinced that redeeming them is automatically the "best value."
The real value of points should be measured against the best alternative stay you would have actually booked, not the hotel's published rate.

Having said that...
I'm still searching for Accor hotels while writing this because I have 1.5L+ worth of Accor points sitting in my account 😋

😟 Last time when HDFC reduced the Infinia ➡️ Accor transfer ratio from 1:1 to 2:1, they at least provided a 1-month notice period. That gave users some time to plan their transfers. ⏳
Unlike Axis, which reduced Accor transfer ratio to ZERO 🚫 without any prior notice 😐
Hoping HDFC maintains the same transparency and dignity if any changes are planned in future🤞. Sudden devaluations without notice hurt loyal customers the most 💳💔

🚨 BREAKING NEWS
Registration of 31,000 Waqf properties in Uttar Pradesh has been CANCELLED over discrepancies and irregularities found in the property documents.
@imYadav31 Simple, I will use Atlas and add him or her as a guest there to keep it smooth. Will never haggle infront of the kid to get them into a lounge for free as I dont know what kind of an image I may leave on them 😂 better to give a try and let whole family eat out itself.
This is how Flipkart treats Black customers? 😭
Same seller.
Same delivery location.
Same product. Same timing.
Only difference? Different accounts.

My account with Black membership → ₹34k+
Non-Black account → ₹32k
Explain this, @Flipkart 👀
Bug? Experiment? Or premium pricing for premium members? 🤡
I genuinely feel @VietnamAirlines needs serious training on empathy and real-time passenger handling.
We were on the Hanoi to Delhi flight and after boarding, passengers were kept inside a packed aircraft for more than 1 hour with no working AC.
This is not ONLY about AC not working. Read till the last and I really suggest to be prepared well in advance for such situations.
My wife started having breathing discomfort. I was trying to calm her down and used whatever wet tissues I had to cool her face.
I asked the cabin crew for more wet tissues.
The answer I got was ridiculous:
“We are about to take off. I will give after that.”
The aircraft did not move for another 15 minutes.
The crew member crossed us twice after that conversation and still did not offer even basic help.
This is not just poor service. This is lack of empathy.
Cabin crew are not just there for announcements and meals. Their biggest strength should be reading the situation and helping passengers when they are visibly struggling.
If a passenger is 5-10 minutes late, airlines will not let them board.
But when passengers are trapped inside an aircraft for an hour without AC, there is no accountability, no compensation, and sometimes not even basic empathy.
My only question is simple:
Why were passengers made to sit inside a suffocating aircraft for an hour?
Let us deboard. It would take 10-15 minutes to board again. But why should passengers suffer inside a packed aircraft with no air conditioning?
Airlines seriously need to stop treating passengers like they have no choice.
@drabhaydaga@VietnamAirlines I was about to plan a trip to Vietnam in July! Your post saved me just in time 🙏. The last thing I would want is to spend money and get humiliated...
I have attached a clear photo of this employee’s ID card. I expect @VietnamAirlines to launch an immediate investigation into this discriminatory conduct and issue a formal apology. Racism and humiliation have no place in aviation. DO BETTER.
#VietnamAirlines#SkyTeam #BusinessClass #PassengerExperience #PaxEx #Discrimination #CustomerService
Dear @VietnamAirlines, this is beyond unacceptable. On 11 May 2026, my family of 3 flew Business Class on flight VN981 from Hanoi (HAN) to Delhi (DEL). Instead of a premium experience, your ground staff subjected us to blatant discrimination and humiliation. 🧵👇

That is how Secular Leftist larpers justify their propaganda.
Air India just dropped a 50% bonus miles offer and this one is BIG.
But before you rush to transfer your credit card points, read this carefully.
Because this offer is not for everyone.
The happiest people right now?
ICICI users.
And the not-so-happy ones?
Axis and HSBC users.
The offer is live from 1st May to 31st May 2026.
You can get up to 50% bonus Maharaja Points when you convert points from eligible partners.
Eligible partners include:
✅ HDFC Bank
✅ ICICI Bank
✅ SBI Aurum / Travel Card
✅ Air India SBI Credit Card
✅ Kotak Mahindra Bank
✅ Yes Bank
✅ IndusInd Bank
✅ RBL Bank
✅ Bandhan Bank
✅ Federal Bank
✅ Union Bank of India
✅ Flipkart Supercoins
✅ Audi India
✅ E-Rewards
✅ Magnify
✅ Maximize
But here’s where the real game starts.
Before converting even 1 point, you must register your Maharaja Club ID on the Points Fest page.
No registration = no bonus.
And the biggest catch?
The bonus applies only on your first qualifying transaction per partner.
Example:
You transfer 50,000 HDFC points today and 25,000 HDFC points tomorrow.
Only the first 50,000 points will get the bonus.
So don’t test with a small transfer unless you are okay with losing the bonus opportunity on that partner.
Also, there is a cap of 2,00,000 bonus points per eligible partner.
Bonus points will be credited within 60 days after the campaign ends, so expect them around late July 2026.
And remember:
Once points are transferred, they are not coming back.
So plan your route, check award availability, register first, and only then move your points.
This is a great offer.
But only if you play it smart.

🚨 Axis cards strategy change - Part 1
Now that Accor is gone (atleast for now), this is how I plan to take things forward.
In this post, going to talk about how I am going to deal with transferring of Axis EDGE miles and points (EM/ER).
🔸 Then:
I used to just transfer to Accor as and when I earn EM/ER. You can see the below screenshot.
I have posted for subscribers and generally also that for Axis, always better to keep transferring once you know which partner you wish to transfer.
🔸 Now:
For now I don’t intend to speculatively transfer my EM/ER even for group A partners.
I would wait till I have a clear use case and the availability before transferring to air miles.
Maybe at the end of the year I would decide as what to do with the balance Group A quota.
This is about points transfers and I would have a couple of more posts on this topic.
