When I was in prison, the only thing that wasn't taken from me was my education. I vowed to go back to Ole Miss and finish my degree when I came home, and I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (until I start my masters program)!

I'm happy and excited for my last year at @OleMiss as an undergrad!

🎓 Class of 2025 🎓

Yesterday, I proudly stood at the Trent Lott Leadership Institute’s medaling ceremony as a member of the graduating class of 2025 and I got to shake Senator Trent Lott’s hand. What a full-circle moment!

After everything I’ve been through- addiction, incarceration, and rebuilding my life piece by piece there’s one thing I’ve never had taken from me:
My education 📚

Even when I lost almost everything else, I held onto learning like it was oxygen. Because it was. Education gave me purpose when I felt like I had none. It gave me a voice when I was silenced. And now it is giving me options when the world said I wouldn’t have any.

This Saturday, I get to walk across that stage with a degree in hand and my head held high. I earned this. And if you're out there wondering if you can change your story too... let me tell you something:

Education is the one thing no one can take from you!

Try the class. Enroll in the program. Ask the questions. Just TRY IT!
You don’t have to have it all figured out... you just have to start!
