@GovParsonMO Univ of MO tried to get my son to go there. I told him absolutely not. There was no way I would pay for him to go to school in a shithole like MO. He's getting his BS & MS in MechEng with a minor in CompSci from CalPoly. MO lost out on him because MO is asshoe.

@leahfrombklyn I *might* be willing to spend 5 hours commuting if my workday, once I got to the office, lasted < 3 hours. If you paid me enough. And I could take the train.

tbh, I prefer my human contact to be with my friends; co-workers don't always (don't usually?) fall into that category.

@IanMacAllen @leahfrombklyn Now I have a wife and kids and I wouldn't waste that much time away from them no matter what, especially if I can do my work from home (which I do full time). You'd also have to pay me an awful lot of money to get me to put on pants every day.

@IanMacAllen @leahfrombklyn I used to have a 1-1.5h commute each way. I didn't mind it at all. I took my morning nap on the way to work and got a lot done on the way home. Mind you, I was on a clean, comfortable train (BART) & had my laptop with me. I was also single with no kids.
