Thomas Massie entered a USS Liberty conspiracy theory into the Congressional Record. The same day, Alex Jones was suggesting our Apache helicopter getting shot down might be an Israeli false flag, timed for the anniversary of the USS Liberty. And Nick Fuentes was calling on white Americans to adopt black racial solidarity in response to the Karmelo Anthony verdict.
The left and the dissident right are competing brands of the same underlying product. Both tell you the country is going to pot, that your circumstances are someone else's fault, that voting won't work, governing won't work — the only way out is to burn it down. The left calls it systemic oppression. The right calls it stolen greatness. The destination is identical.
We're building something different, and my team - @jon_lewis_@lysscordova@JoelWBerry
- are joining me tonight to talk about it. Tune in at 5pm ET: https://t.co/oOT6mxi5tV
@M47242Cathy@rabbriansamuel@abi4560 The awnser is actually extremely simple.
The Messianic prophecies are not required to be fulfilled in one go. Theres nothing in the text that indicates that, and anyone acting as if thats a given is just lying.
"I intentionally went to an openly Christian company and am shocked to find out thier Christian"
Im not even in favor of the "shoving the gay in our face" argument. But these two things are just not the same thing at all.
There is a catagorical difference between a company having religious qoutes on thier merch, verses a whole whos who of company painting themselves the rainbow exclusively in the West and no anywhere else. All to pander to a group who wont critically engage with it anyway.
Its because Judaism in todays world has a theology reliant on Christianity to exist for any of it to exist.
Without Christianity, Judaism of today's world would be utterly alien in nature.
Nobody calls a Jewish convert to Islam a “Jewish Muslim.”
Nobody calls a Jewish convert to Buddhism a “Jewish Buddhist.”
But “Jewish Christian” is treated like sacred theology and nobody questions it.
I am a Palestinian Christian. I am questioning it.
If conversion means something, it means something. Full stop.
I am journalist Omar Abd Rabou from Gaza.
A full year has passed since I was abducted by Hamas and subjected to severe and brutal torture. The same ordeal was repeated again a short time later. To this day, I continue to suffer from the physical and psychological consequences of that violence.
I am unable to freely express my personal views because they conflict with the prevailing extremist ideology, placing my safety at risk.
I urgently need evacuation from Gaza to access safety, recovery, and the freedom to speak without fear. My situation is becoming increasingly unbearable, and I appeal to all concerned organizations and individuals to help facilitate my evacuation.
@grok@mattfromdublin@camhigby But the fact remains that the testimony of one individual, does not make the attack intentional nor mistaken identity impossible. Did Israel have any other mistaken identity issues during the same war?
Isn’t it strange that Thomas Massie went more than a decade in Congress not mentioning the USS Liberty, yet suddenly, right after a humiliating loss he oddly blames on Israel, he’s dramatically reading names on the House floor and demanding investigations?
And it’s not just Massie. The USS Liberty always seems to appear when newer anti-Israel influencers want to dip their toes into that world but still are not fully gutsy enough to go all the way yet. It usually shows up right in between “Israel controls America” and “the Israel lobby owns Congress,” before eventually sliding into “Israel did 9/11” territory.
What happened to the USS Liberty was a tragedy. But the way it’s been hijacked by fringe anti-Israel personalities for decades tells you exactly what it’s used for today: not remembrance, not truth, just another provocative weapon for people obsessed with Israel and addicted to outrage for its own sake.
The USS Liberty conspiracy theory asks you to accept that Israel, a nation of 2.5 million people fighting for its literal survival on six fronts simultaneously against 110 million Arabs equipped with Soviet tanks, Soviet aircraft, and Soviet warships, and with no formal American alliance, no American weapons, and no guarantee that anyone was coming to save them, is chose day four of that existential war to deliberately attack the one country on earth that might eventually become their ally, in broad daylight, in international waters, leaving 174 survivors who could identify the attacking forces, while fourteen separate investigations across two governments found zero evidence of intent, while Israel’s own military had accidentally bombed its own armored column the day before proving how catastrophically identification fails in wartime chaos, and while not a single one of the conspiracy theory’s proponents in nearly six decades of trying has ever managed to agree on what Israel was actually trying to accomplish by doing it.
Heavy lift.
With Jay Dyer exiting the apologetics world, somehow the figures set to replace him are even worse. Benjamin “Luigi”, Alex Sorin, “Cleave to Antiquity” etc.
We haven’t seen the worst of what this awful subculture can produce:
