Extremely sad to see the state of the games industry. One game takes minimum 5 years, and a slight disappointment is enough to take out half your studio. It’s all so unsustainable
@suhailrazzak Right but most data is just visualized as points along a line, and how we shape that “line” can take a lot of different forms, no? But also it definitely is reductive, as there’s definitely a lot of data that isn’t easily mapped to an axis.
Been thinking a little about data visualization, and most things are just axes. You can encode 3 values into position in 3d space, encode 1-2 values using color gradients, maybe another value with size or shape. Knobs or dials just use polar coordinates instead. What else?
I recommend all of my Muslim moots to watch this, even if you don't watch Anime normally. The Japanese blow everyone else in faithfully depicting the medieval Islamicate world
Been thinking about it today (I think @TheCartelDel mentioned it in his latest video) and I really do think a big reason why I don’t stick with games these days and finish them is because I don’t need to take the disc out. There’s so little friction, I’m left with choice fatigue.
Been playing GTA 4 with all this discussion of GTA 6, and despite all my criticisms of rockstar, I’m compelled. Niko is an incredible character, and I really hope his story lands. Thematically, it all ties really well into New York City, the death of the American Dream, and 2008
“He is using his legal inability to run for the highest office as an advantage to be the national voice of the party through influence rather than ambition.”
So ask yourself this question. Mamdani is not just a phenomenon of a political talent but he has learnt from Obama that patriotism is the life blood of leadership. As is joy and hope. Any National Dem could have chosen today to make a speech to the nation. Where are Jeffries or Schumer? Newsom, Shaprio, Pritzker, Ossoff et al. Nature abhors a vacuum and the mayor of NYC has taken the leadership of the opposition to the administration and will hold it until someone else does so. He is using his legal inability to run for the highest office as an advantage to be the national voice of the party through influence rather than ambition. He’s exceptionally good at it.
