The following arrangements can not be part of the Yankees winning formula:
- Jose Caballero in the outfield
- Austin Wells. End of sentence.
- Ryan McMahon more than a defensive replacement
- Oswaldo Cabrera. End of sentence.
- Jake Bird. End of sentence.
- Ryan Yarbrough. End of sentence.
- Anthony Volpe more than a regular season platoon against lefty pitching.
- Camilo Doval. End of sentence.
These are all currently making the next man up Yankees even more unwatchable than they need to be. Easy fixes, some of them can be made TODAY.
The trade pieces most heavily discussed for the Mets are Weaver, Holmes, and Freddy, but with these comments there might be reason to believe Lindor could be on the table to. Cutting down to a 300 million dollar payroll won't be easy with his $32 m AAV.
This means 2 things.
1) Cohen has some inside info which leads him to believe a cap is coming hence the "$300 million before anything else."
2) FO getting creative could mean either the Mets trade lot more than originally expected or could just simply mean finding cheap players.
Steve Cohen on the Mets future:
โ2027 could be tougher. We have to wait on who opts in and opts out, we could be close to $300 million before anything else. When I look at 27โ I get concerned, itโs going to be a weird year. This is where I look to my FO to be creative.โ

Heโs not perfect by any means, but Iโm once again please asking this fanbase to stop lumping in Francisco Alvarez with Brett Baty, Mark Vientos and Ronny Mauricio
@BigBlueFilmRoom Improved (already top 10) o-line, Pat Ricard, John Harbaugh/Greg Roman run heavy offense. Skatt should see massive benefit from the situation
