Another landmark decision to fulfil the aspirations of Ladakh’s youths.
Taking a note of several representations and persistent demands, I have approved age-relaxation (5+2 years) for candidates from areas adjoining Actual Line of Control, for the upcoming recruitment for the posts of Sub-Inspectors in Ladakh Police. With this move, candidates up to the age of 35 years, will be eligible for the recruitment drive, as against the upper age limit of 28 years, earlier.
I firmly believe that constraints like difficult terrains, limited infrastructure and restricted access to educational and preparatory resources, must not hinder the future of our youths.
We are committed to ensure equal opportunities for all sections of society, particularly the aspirants from ALC areas, by promoting inclusivity and ensuring their fair representation in Ladakh Police and other government departments.

In the Union Territory of Ladakh, we have approved ₹1196.22 crore for the construction of a unidirectional twin-tube tunnel, along with approach roads, across Fotu La Pass on National Highway 1.
NH-01 (Uri–Srinagar–Leh) traverses Fotu La at an altitude of approximately 4,108 metres, making it the highest point along the highway. This stretch serves as a vital strategic corridor and the primary supply route to Ladakh. However, the existing road features steep gradients and multiple hairpin bends, and remains frequently closed during winters due to heavy snowfall and icing.
To address these challenges, the tunnel project—spanning a total length of 2.65 km, including a 1.96 km twin-tube tunnel and 0.69 km of approach roads—will ensure safer, all-weather connectivity. Once completed, it will reduce travel distance by 8.5 km, delivering significant strategic and logistical benefits.

24th Sept 2025 will be remembered as a Black Day in #Ladakh . 💔
4 innocent youths fell to bullets, and 90+ were injured. A tragedy written in blood & tears. Justice must prevail silence is not an option.

Until 24th September,if we say we are from Ladakh, most people had little or no idea about the region. Many did not know where it was located, nor how one could travel there, whether by train, flight or road. Nothing ideas about its climate conditions, people behaviour, our culture, custom , language .
However, in the aftermath of that tragic incident, the situation has completely changed. Today, even those who earlier had absolutely no knowledge about Ladakh are writing about it, commenting on it without knowing about Ladakh ..
I am still sure if I ask tell me route to go Ladakh without using google maps , they may even don’t reach Ladakh 😂…

Suspending internet won’t solve #Ladakh’s crisis.
We need justice for #Ladakh & all innocent detainees. Those behind the shoot-at-sight order must be held accountable.
Only dialogue, justice & fulfilling genuine demands can bring peace not suppression. ✊
