Hindu groups are pelted with stones because they are taught that music outside their religious structures is haram and is to be punished by mob violence

Taking awareness of all this to the last mile is an act of great social service

Societies transform when they are educated about the roots of such violence and not merely its symptoms

Babasaheb Ambedkar too served this cause through his book Pakistan and Partition of India. We are committed to taking this awareness to masses

These were the words of CJI BR Gavai to a petitioner seeking restoration of the 7-foot beheaded idol of Lord Vishnu at a temple in Khajuraho, that was mutilated during Mughal invasions and left that way ever since.

Such remarks are unacceptable. If the plea has no legal merit, just dismiss it. Say it cannot be allowed and close the matter. But mocking faith and deities is not the role of the Court.

And to be clear, this treatment is not uniform. Between Nov and Feb, a bench led by same Justice Gavai stayed the demolition of the Madni Mosque in Kushinagar, UP. Couldn’t he have told the petitioner in that case to pray for the mosque’s protection instead of directing the UP govt to halt demolition?

Courts are meant to uphold justice, not play preacher selectively.

लोग दूसरी कार से पेट्रोल-डीजल निकाल कर प्रयोग करेंगे या पेट्रोल खुले में बिकेगा। केवल पम्प पर गई गाड़ी ही स्क्रैप में क्यों जाएगी? इसके पीछे का तर्क क्या है?

एक विकल्प तो यह भी है कि जिनकी गाड़ी पुरानी हो गई, वो सीएनजी किट लगवा लें, या आज कल कारों और बाइकों को इलेक्ट्रिक भी बनाया जा सकता है। सरकार ने लोगों को ये विकल्प क्यों नहीं दिया?

कुर्सी पर नितम्ब रगड़ते हिस्ट्री पास बाबुओं के दिमाग से ऐसे ही दो कौड़ी के नियम निकलते हैं कि पेट्रोल पम्प पर AI कैमरा लगा देते हैं! वही बकलोल तय करते हैं कि कार भले ही 20,000 किमी ही चली हो, पर दस साल की हो गई तो उसे मृत बता दिया जाए।

किसे लाभ पहुँचाना चाहते हैं ये लोग, मुझे ये समझ में नहीं आ रहा: स्क्रैप डीलर्स, सेकेंड हेंड कार वाले, ऑटो लॉबी, सीएनजी किट वाले?

संभव है कि सप्ताह भर में ये निर्णय वापस लिया जाए। हालाँकि उसके लिए कार वालों को सड़क पर आना होगा और सविनय अवज्ञा आंदोलन करना होगा।

CCTV footage: A passenger being thrashed by associates of BJP MLA Rajeev Singh, simply because he refused to switch his seat with the MLA on Vande Bharat train.

The passenger sustained injuries, his clothes soaked in blood, yet he didn't file complaint against the MLA. But now, BJP MLA filed an NCR against the passenger for alleged misbehavior.

The passenger didn't switch the seat, so the MLA switched the blame. After all, how dare a common man cause discomfort to a VIP?

Israel’s population is just 10 million, while India has 1.4 billion people. Yet their latest military operations present a striking contrast.

Israel decapitated Iran’s top military command through powerful preemptive strikes. In contrast, India launched its Operation Sindoor tentatively — after giving Pakistan 15 days’ advance notice. It initially targeted some terrorist camps but without first neutralizing Pakistan’s air defenses. That strategic oversight led to the loss of some Indian warplanes. Only then did the political leadership authorize the Air Force to strike Pakistani air defenses and air bases. But just as the Indian military was gaining the upper hand, the operation was abruptly halted — only three days after it began.

Force should always be a last resort — but when used, it must be guided by strategic clarity. A military operation should aim for decisive results that speak for themselves — not rely on post-facto narrative-building through domestic roadshows or delegations of lawmakers dispatched abroad.
