The council try to maintain the rat population in the area because if their population boosts it can have a detrimental effect on wildlife. Rats enjoy eating bird eggs so more rats mean less wildlife on the lake.
Please feed responsibly ๐ฆ๐ฅ
Just a gentle reminder when feeding the ducks and other birds at the lake- Please give small portions and ensure what youโve given is eaten before giving more and try to avoid leaving food on the ground. By feeding the ducks we are also inadvertently feeding the rats!
