@Jav3ria_Shahid @julie_conder @chantelle0090 What makes is harmful is how they are used in the community without the ability to be replicated. People are given trainings at work or are taught at school using these unreplicated studies. This spread misinformation around the population.
@ShreyaA49854818 Self help books are commonplace in society sometimes even therapists recommend them. How are we to trust these books when they constantly contradict each other and are based on biased research. They can be more harmful than good.
@lmaofarwa It makes articles inaccesible to most of the population. I know I tend to skip over those articles or only read parts of it which affect my understanding of it. The current way science is communicated is too complicated.
@mikaylabrassard The current school system also encourages p-hacking. In labs when you don't get an answer similar to expected results many students change results. The way we approach science needs to move away from result-oriented.
Currently, #studentevaluations govern profs careers
#SETs are seen as valid measurements of teaching performance
How do students evaluate profs? What of their biases?
What allows students to evaluate profs?
