I’ve been managing this urban upgrading project since Jan 2019. This video shows briefly the great achievements of the project at the #human and built environment levels. These were seen in the enhanced #social cohesion between all community groups and improved living conditions.

When we first visited the neighbourhood, the residents were suffering from lack of access to basic services - mainly water and electricity - and safe public spaces, weak socio-economic situation, deteriorating built environment, and lack of safety and security conditions.

Last week, @CityOfBeirut and @UNHABITAT 🇱🇧's Municipal Social Cell held a session w/ @himayaleb w/ the children of Tariq El Jdide to raise awareness on safety, teamwork, self-protection + more. A football game in Horsh Beirut followed where they now will be able to play weekly.⚽️
