Many thanks to the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Houston McGovern Medical School for the opportunity to give Grand Rounds today on defining "disease control" in chronic rhinosinusitis!
Many thanks to Drs. Metson and Poe, & all course organizers for kind invitation to join the faculty for this year's "Endoscopic Surgery of the Sinuses, Eustachian tube and Ear" course at Mass Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School. Wonderful to spend time with old friends & mentors.
Celebration dinner for the well-deserved retirements of Dr. Allen Seiden and Dr. Al Sassler, two legends from the Division of Rhinology, Allergy and Anterior Skull Base Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. Wishing them all the best for the next stage of their lives!
Many thanks to the West Virginia Academy of Otolaryngology for the invitation to present this past weekend on "Disease control in chronic rhinosinusitis" and the "therapeutic ladder for non-polyp chronic rhinosinusitis". Great to see old friends and to make many new ones!
Very proud to lead this study with terrific colleague Prof. Claire Hopkins @SnotSurgeon, & long list of esteemed colleagues to identify consensus (& near consensus) criteria for chronic rhinosinusitis disease control. Now "in press" at @JRhinology website:

Grateful and honored to receive a corresponding membership at the 67th Congress of the Austrian Society of Otorhinolaryngology last week in Vienna, where I also organized & moderated a round table discussion on disease control in chronic rhinosinusitis.
It was a pleasure to present today on "State of the Art ENT care in Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis" at the Regional Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Update meeting organized by the Cystic Fibrosis Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital @CincyChildrens@UCRhinology
The subject of my Rhinology August 2023 issue editorial with @wytskefokkens is a big thanks to everyone who is actively involved in peer review. We cannot have a high quality & clinically impactful scientific literature w/o our reviewers! https://t.co/vZIX3WI2mt

Had a great time at the European Rhinologic Society Congress in Sofia, Bulgaria! Appreciate the opportunity to participate in a distinguished panel discussion on what "control" means for chronic rhinosinusitis as well as give a lecture on "how to be a good reviewer"

22hrs, 4 flights (Cincinnati —> Newark —> Frankfurt —> Munich —> Sofia), not including 1 canceled flight and 1 missed flight, & I have made to ERS in Sofia, Bulgaria. Can’t wait for some exciting and thought provoking discussions! But I might get a bite to eat & sleep first 😁
Second (!!!) intrnationl trip w/ @united in last month canceled. My trip to ERS in Sofia canceled last min yesterday, rebooked for today w/ 1hr layover in Frankfurt but flight to Frankfurt delayed 1.5hr b/c cargo door wouldn't close. When will I get to Sofia? Anyone's guess..😬
