Danny Bismark Dies.
Some men build teams. Others build communities. Danny Bismark did both.
The Arcadia community has lost one of its true icons following the passing of Danny Bismark-Petit.
Born in Kadoma in 1935, Danny spent 52 years working for PG Industries.
Away from his professional career, he devoted himself to the development of sport and community life in Arcadia, leaving an indelible mark on Zimbabwean football.
His greatest legacy was the transformation and development of the Arcadia Sports Centre and the stadium that became the home of Arcadia United.
Such was his contribution that the ground was renamed Danny Bismark Stadium in his honour.
For years, Danny Bismark Stadium was a fortress. The famous red-and-white-clad Arcadia supporters packed the stands as visiting giants such as Dynamos, CAPS United and Highlanders often found life extremely difficult there.
The stadium became the beating heart of a proud football community and a venue that hosted top-flight football for generations.
Danny's legacy extends far beyond football. He helped build a sense of identity and belonging for the Arcadia community and created a home for countless sporting memories.
Mr Bismark's contribution to Arcadia and Zimbabwean football will be remembered for generations to come.
Rest in peace, Danny Bismark.

Yesterday I sat down with Nicholas Mugwagwa Vingirai — the father of banking in Zimbabwe.
He built Intermarket Holdings from nothing into a financial services giant. Then it was all taken away.
Seven years in exile. Two decades fighting to recover his assets. A faith that never broke.
This two-part @ConvoWithTrevor is a masterclass in resilience, purpose, and the cost of building something great in Africa.

The time Mtukudzi covered a Chimbetu hit:
In 1986, Simon and Naison Chimbetu recorded Ndiyamure, on the Dendera Resango album.
Tuku loved the track, recorded his own version. He later performed it on stage a few times with Sulu Chimbetu.
Hey, fam.
Let me step into the group chat with a small favour, eksé. I don’t ask for these often so allow me this one ,and brace for the proud father moment 😂😂😂
My daughter and son-in-law have launched something beautiful called The Box Minis ,a different kind of photography experience. Proper professional shoots done inside these clean, modern white “box frames” that they turn into a 9-box collage.
It’s fun, it’s creative, the kids absolutely love it, and the final product looks like something you’d proudly place on the family mantle or gift to the grandparents.
And it’s not just for the little ones… families, parents, couples ,everyone fits in the box (literally 😅).
Right now they’re running Christmas Mini Sessions ,30 to 40 minutes, up to 2 outfit changes, a professionally edited 9-box collage plus 15+ single edited images. Up to 4 people, $120. Quick delivery too.
They’re based in Mount Pleasant, but they can also come to you, your kindergarten, your events ,wherever you want these memories captured.
📌 Please show some love: Repost, follow, share ,all of that good stuff. Facebook: The Box Minis (link in my comments) Contact: Gaz on : +263772979459.
Support the kids’ hustle, fam. These are memories worth keeping. ❤️📸

Lumbar puncture/kutorwa mvura yekumusana is a very safe procedure. Dr Mataruse, specialist in that area, explains the origins of the fears/myth.
This was my 1st awareness video, 1st year intern, 6 years ago. I was happy he accepted to be interviewed. Much appreciated 👏🏿.
Rise and shine… or don’t! It’s Bank Holiday!
Good morning, my X Familia! Hope you all had an amazing weekend.
Today is a public holiday here in the UK,aka Zimbabwe North, and wow, what a great feeling that is! I totally forgot to turn off my alarm, so it went off at 05:32 as usual. And boy, oh boy… the pleasure of hearing it and realising, nah Cuz , today is a bank holiday!🕺🏽
I actually let it keep “alarming” for a bit before switching it off, stuck my tongue out at it, flashed it the middle finger 😂😂😂, then rolled over, pulled the duvet over my head and went straight back to doss! Bliss.
I’m on call though… but for now, I feel like a winner. 💪
If you’re in the UK, have a dynamite Bank Holiday Monday. For everyone else, smash that week, make it productive and make it count! Much ❤️

A section of South Africans right or wrong feel they don't want Zimbabweans there 💔
It's ok 👍🏿
My dream is that one day, our people can return home to prosperity
We then lock the border gates so no one comes in after
Zimbabweans deserve better 💔

This photo of my childhood friend Roger Fernoughty, going through the traditional journeymen ritual after graduating from his apprenticeship, really takes me back in time. Roger had qualified at The Herald @HeraldZimbabwe alongside his colleagues shown here.
Back in those days, when one completed their apprenticeship, the ritual of being chained, plastered with used oil and grease, and paraded down First Street was a celebrated tradition.
Luckily for me, when I qualified, I took a week's leave from work to party with friends. We pooled our money to buy 11 crates of beer from Mannix Wholesalers, six "bombs" of brandy including brands like BOLS, Limousine, Oude Meester, as well as "bombs" of Mainstay, Ouzo, Don Juan Sherry, quarter jacks of Cola Cane, and six bottles of Green Valley Wine.
We gathered at a house in Braeside, invited some beauties from Southerton—the then home of the most beautiful women in Harare, all descendants of mixed heritage including Italian, German, Portuguese, and Greek, much to the envy of the ladies in my own neighbourhood of Sunningdale, AKA Kong. We drank, danced to tunes by The Meters, Earth, Wind and Fire, Ashford & Simpson, The Whispers, and more.
I can't recall how I got home, but I woke up the next day sprawled on the lounge floor at my parents' house at 25 Petersen Ave, Sunningdale, with the ceiling spinning above me. When Mama Rose saw me, she was speechless for the first time in her life due to her disgust. 😳🤢
The other guys weren't in any better shape—one woke up with a black eye and some bruises after starting a fight with an American marine at Archiepelago, what he was doing there in his “condition” boggles the mind; another fell asleep at his girlfriend's gate, only to be woken by a kick from her father who already disapproved of their relationship; another found himself in police custody at Braeside Police Station, not sure what he did to earn such "hospitality"; and two others, driving together in a Datsun 1200, ended up in a ditch near the little bridge between Braeside and present-day OK Mart. Unfortunately, their car's sump was damaged, and the engine was left running while they slept, leading to it “knocking”.
I could write a few chapters about the aftermath of that party ,nobody knows what happened to the beauties,we all suspected they did a runner after witnessing some outrageous behaviour! 😂
Those were the days.

While on our way back from Chisumbanje, right at the start of Christmas Pass, we met a driver who failed to negotiate a curve and plunged into a sideway drain. In agreement, the boys decided to pull out the vehicle. A smile was left on the female driver... we move!!!
