📣 Yng Nghymru, nid yw cyfraddau diagnosis o ddementia yn cael eu casglu mewn ffordd sy'n gyson, sy'n ei gwneud hi'n anodd gwybod ble mae angen gofal a chymorth fwyaf.
Gofynnwch i'ch AS neu Aelod Seneddol i lofnodi ein llythyr at GIG Cymru i newid hyn 👇

📣 Across Wales, dementia diagnosis rates are not consistently collected, making it hard to know where care and support is needed most.
If you live in Wales, you can ask your MS/MP to sign our open letter calling on NHS Wales to change this 👇

We were pleased to meet with Alyson Thomas, Chief Executive of @Llais_Wales yesterday to hear about their work.
We spoke about how we can support them in ensuring that the voices of people living with dementia are central in shaping local and national services across Wales.

Thank you to all Members for their contributions and to the Deputy Minister @lynne_neagle for her responses 💙
@AlzSocCymru look forward to working across parties to ensure that dementia is seen as a priority within this Senedd and Welsh Government.
We saw @DelythJewellAM highlight the current barriers which prevent people from accessing a timely and accurate diagnosis.
We know that people living in rural communities and those whose first language is not English, are less likely to have timely access to a quality diagnosis.
Finally, we saw @DelythJewellAM speak about her personal experiences of dementia, and highlighting some of the barriers preventing people from getting a timely and accurate diagnosis.
It was also great to see @natasghar asking about the importance of accurate and accessible dementia data, and how this could help us with futureproofing the diagnostic system
@AlzSocCymru
We were pleased to see @natasghar calling for improved access to subtype diagnosis data in Wales, and for highlighting that there are over 100 different types of dementia
It was great to see the importance of a timely and accurate diagnosis of dementia being highlighted again in the Senedd this week.
Diolch @JBryantWales for your continued support for improving dementia care in Wales 💙
Diolch @LauraJ4SWEast am godi pwysigrwydd diagnosis cywir ac amserol yn y Senedd 💙
Mae bron i un o bob pump o bobl yng Nghymru sy'n sylwi ar symptomau o ddementia yn aros mwy na chwe mis cyn lleisio eu pryderon

Thank you @LauraJ4SWEast for highlighting the importance of an accurate and timely diagnosis in the Senedd 💙
Almost one in five people in Wales who notice symptoms of dementia are waiting more than six months before voicing their concerns.

There are estimated to be around 50,000 people living with dementia in Wales.
By 2050, this figure is expected to double, yet the current diagnosis rate in Wales is only around 50%.
