- The assassination of Charlie Kirk

Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all.

The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.

In 2016, I worked for a company that was shutting down. I applied for a job in Lehi, road a train down🚆& sat at a picnic table with @timchaves in a park. He was very fun to talk to because he was extremely smart and really cared about his startup @ZipBooks .

Over the next three years, I watched a masterclass in entrepreneurship as Tim and @jarennichols did their thing. Tim was not a hype man. He was a down to earth 🌎, humble, servant-leader with excellent judgment.

Because of ZipBooks, I made enough to pay off my house. 🏠 …But I didn’t. I somehow knew an opportunity was coming and I wanted to be able to Jump on it and not require income for a while.

Two years ago, when Tim told me he was starting a new startup with @parkerence, I knew this was it. I had lunch with Parker and instantly wanted to be on his team, and that feeling has grown every day. 👊 Working with them is a dream.

The first year of Jump felt like a month watching my bank account drain. 💸 The second year has felt like a decade. We went from 3 cofounders to 50 people in less than a year. Somehow, we’ve convinced a team of savants at their craft to work with us.

We went from wishing for one customer to, some days, wishing they’d stop signing up so fast! 😳 However, I’ve never worked with more awesome users. They are so excited and serious about their clients. They push us hard to make our product better.

My own financial advisor advised me against starting a startup with no pay. 🤣 Without his help it would have been even more stressful. Their work is so important, and I love helping advisors help their clients with something so core to survival and life: money.
