If your “God” is so pathetically weak, insecure, and incompetent that he can’t give men the power to part the Red Sea, raise the dead, or forgive sins WITHOUT “making them God”, your “God” is not the God of the Bible.
St. Jerome was a great saint, but he had a very strong temper.
He argued with several Church Fathers, including St. Augustine.
At one point, Jerome even accused Augustine of being proud, dishonest, and cunning.
Yes, this is the same Jerome the Church honours as a saint.
The saints were not perfect people without faults. They had tempers, weaknesses, and disagreements too.
They were human beings who struggled to become holy.
St. Jerome, pray for us
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. .
Taking control begins with admiting fault and accepting resposibility.
You are in control of your actions. Everything you do or chooose not to do rests on your shoulders.
Whatever we do,
let us work as though we work for God Himself,
because we are.
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."
