I was working the late shift at the electronics counter when a man in his late fifties picked up a small Bluetooth speaker and asked, “How do I know this thing is actually working if I’m not near it?”
I gave him the usual explanation about range, battery life and the pairing signal
He listened, nodded, then asked the same question again. "Okay, but how do I know it’s working if I leave it in the room?"
By the third time he asked, I was getting irritated. I started explaining it even slower, breaking down signal ranges like he was five years old, thinking he just wasn't grasping basic tech.
Then, while looking at the box, he said, “I just don't want it to stop while I'm upstairs”
I asked why
He hesitated for a moment, then quietly explained that his mother had severe dementia and was downstairs on the ground floor
He wanted to play her favorite songs from his bedroom upstairs without having to walk down every twenty minutes to check whether the connection had dropped and left her sitting in complete silence
That was all he said
I had spent ten minutes explaining signal range and device specs, while he was just trying to ask if he could trust the speaker to keep his sick mother company when he wasn't in the room
We sell tech daily, but sometimes we are so busy delivering correct answers that we don't even hear the actual human need behind the question
@0xFatii@lakaas123@DrJoeAbah@oxfatii, some emails function like letters, but not every email qualifies as a letter. So, couldn’t this letter in question also be considered an email?
@davidadesegun@Richiegold_6 Exactly. It’s really disrespectful to expect Osimhen, who’s at the peak of his career, to take a pay cut. He already earns far less than the top eight strikers in the world.
My friend take life easy o. Because the man that covered Tinubu by answering questions for him in Chatham house UK is now in prison While those that criticised him are now in the palace.
