A doctor who fought for patients by protesting faulty Chinese sonography machines and alleged corruption/commissions at Bharatpur’s RBM Hospital has been punished instead.

Dr. Haricharan (Senior Resident, Radiology) has been abruptly relieved today (19 June) and ordered to report to Jaipur. Instead of fixing the rotten procurement system, the administration is silencing the whistleblower.

This is a dangerous message to every honest doctor in Rajasthan.

In Rajasthan, contract doctors will now receive a salary lower than that of livestock assistants.

The Animal Husbandry Department has issued a notification to recruit 162 posts for Doctors at ₹28,050 Previously, doctors under the contract system received ₹56,000 .. Salary reduced by almost half !

On the other hand, livestock assistants will receive ₹29,385 per month, meaning their salary is more than that of doctors.

They should rather release a notification saying Doctors to serve on voluntary services for a noble cause …only food and shelter will be provided .
