The NPP has a long and enviable record of championing constitutionalism, human rights, and the rule of law in Ghana’s democratic journey. That is why we feel a responsibility to speak up whenever questions arise about due process, regardless of who is involved.
God bless every Ghanaian that showed up! ✨🙌🏾

Caution ⚠️
Every Ghanaian living everywhere should be concerned about this dangerous third term agenda. Arresting the opposition and critics of this government is just a distraction from the real sinister goal to scuttle the most UNAMBIGUOUS provision in the constitution. Any president serves 2 terms if you are lucky and it ends there. RESIST THE OPPRESSORS RULE.
Two vociferous critics of this government have been arrested for different reasons over the weekend and the reactions have been very interesting.
My position has always been guided by the same principle, fairness, due process and equal application of the law.
Dennis deserves the protection of the law and so does Okatakyie. Rights and freedoms cannot be dependent on political affiliation, popularity, or whose side of the debate one happens to be on.
At the same time this weekend other incidents have received significant public attention, including reports of a confrontation involving the Ga East and Ga West MCEs. Questions have been asked about whether the law has been applied with the same urgency and consistency in every case. Have there been any arrests ? Violent clashes with no consequence ?
These are legitimate questions in any democracy especially one that promised better under the guise of a RESET.
Public confidence in our institutions is strengthened when citizens see that the law operates fairly, impartially, and without favour. It should not matter whether the person involved is a journalist, a political activist, a government official, or an ordinary citizen.
The standard must be the same for everyone.
That is how trust is built. That is how justice is seen to be done. And that is how we protect the democratic values we all claim to cherish.
