Two Russians climbed New York's Empire State Building spire today, setting off a rolling TV news frenzy in the US.
They are Angela Nikolau and Ivan 'Beerkus' Kuznetsov, both from Moscow and among the world’s best-known urban climbers.
The pair were the subject of Netflix’s 2024 documentary Skywalkers: A Love Story and are known for scaling some of the tallest buildings on earth.
In Malaysia, they reportedly hid for almost 30 hours inside the Merdeka 118 construction site before climbing the 678-metre tower and leaving the country before police caught up with them.

"The Blockchain Designed For The Real World" dives deep into their progress.
Minima is building the ultimate embedded Layer 1: a full blockchain node that runs on phones & chips.
In central China’s Shanxi, a residential community has drawn attention for its “rooftop rain” — a mist cooling system that drops surface temperatures by 5–8°C in minutes.
Much of the blockchain industry has focused on financial applications.
While those use cases remain important, they represent only one possible direction for decentralized technology.
The emergence of autonomous systems, AI agents, robotics, connected vehicles, and billions of IoT devices raises a broader question:
What infrastructure will these machines use to trust one another?
Minima’s answer is that trust should not live exclusively in data centres.
It should live wherever the machine lives.
By designing a blockchain compact enough to run directly on devices, vehicles, phones, sensors, and chips,
@Minima_Global is building toward a future where machines are not merely connected to decentralized networks.
They are the decentralized network.
And as autonomous systems become a larger part of the global economy, that distinction may prove to be one of the most important technological shifts of the coming decades.
