A workshop on sharing of good practices on elephant conservation, especially focused on mitigating human-elephant conflicts was organised by @MOEFCC in coordination with Tamil Nadu Forest Department in Coimbatore today.

The CWLWs and officials of 15 elephant range states shared their idea and suggestions. Such cross dissemination of knowledge is essential both for replicating good practices and reducing learning curves in meeting the challenges of human elephant conflict in the field.

It was an honour to felicitate our frontline heroes with the #GajGaurav Awards and launch awareness campaigns involving 15 lakh students from over 5,000 schools.

India, home to approx. 60% of the world’s wild elephants, leads in conservation with 33 reserves, 150 corridors, with a blend tech, AI & geospatial tools.

Elephants are more than wildlife, they’re sacred symbols of our culture, history & spirituality. Their protection is our civilizational duty.

Beyond the news of human-animal conflicts, happy to share this example of human-animal harmonious existence.

A train in Jharkhand waited for two hours as an elephant delivered her calf. The 📹 shows how the two later walked on happily.

Following a whole-of government approach, @MOEFCC and @RailMinIndia have identified more the 110 sensitive spots by surveying 3,500 km of railway tracks in the country. It is lovely to see the efforts producing such heart-warming results.

Special kudos to @JharkhandVan officials for their sensitivity which helped the elephant deliver her young one.
