The killers become shadows. Their ideology disappears. Their agency vanishes. And somehow, in your telling, the real culprit ends up being Westminster.

This is the same trick you pull every time armed Islamists shed blood: erase who did it, turn the West into the villain, and hope no one notices the substitution. You did it with Hamas – excusing a jihadist death cult while directing all your fury at Britain and Israel. You do it with Iran – treating the world's leading state sponsor of terror as a misunderstood victim while casting the West as the provocateur. Now you're doing it with the RSF.

Sudan isn't in flames because a crate of British-made components passed through Dubai. It's in flames because Islamist factions tore the country apart. The RSF were not conjured into existence by UK export licences. They were born out of Darfur's jihadist killing fields, bankrolled by regional powers, and driven by men who answer to no law. These are the people butchering civilians in El Fasher – not British engineers in Wolverhampton.

But you won't say that. You won't condemn the ideology behind the slaughter. You won't name the states arming and funding the militias. You won't hold the perpetrators to account. Your outrage always circles back to the same safe target: Britain. The country that gave you a platform, a salary, and freedoms Sudanese civilians can only dream of.

You talk about moral duty. The first moral duty is honesty. And honesty means admitting that the horrors in Sudan are committed by Sudanese actors – Islamist militias, power-hungry generals, and foreign sponsors who see the country as a battlefield for their own ambitions. Britain is not the engine of this war. Britain is the convenient villain you need to maintain your worldview.

If you want to talk about the RSF's supply lines, then talk about them. Talk about the Gulf patrons. Talk about the Islamist factions. Talk about the ideological rot that drives these groups to burn villages and mass-kill civilians. But you won't touch that, because it breaks the story you need to tell: that every fire in the world is sparked by the West, and every Islamist fighter is merely reacting.

You didn't write your letter to defend Sudanese civilians. You wrote it to launder blame away from the perpetrators and park it neatly at Britain's door.

At the UN, Trump Said What Starmer Dare Not: The West Is Committing Suicide

President Trump's speech at the UN was a wrecking ball. Crude, overlong, part-rally, part-tirade - but it struck at truths that our own leaders bury under platitudes. And that is why the media will howl and the political class will seethe: not because he was wrong, but because he said out loud what they refuse to face.

Just days after Trump's state visit to Britain, Starmer aligned with Carney, Macron, Sánchez and Albanese in recognising Palestine - handing Hamas the prize it demanded on 7 October. Trump called it plainly: a reward for terror. While hostages rot in tunnels, Britain and its allies rush to crown the butchers of Gaza with legitimacy. That isn't diplomacy. It's betrayal of Israel - a trusted ally and the frontline of Western defence.

And it gets worse. Trump turned his fire on the UK - and he's right. Our towns and cities are buckling under mass migration. Our energy policy is national self-harm: shutting down the North Sea while plastering the countryside with useless turbines. Our government calls it "progress." Trump called it suicide. He pointed at Sadiq Khan and voiced what millions of Britons feel: London has been transformed - and not for the better. To add insult to injury, Britain now flirts with Sharia.

The UN itself got no mercy. Trump mocked it for what it is - a hollow bureaucracy, issuing "strongly worded letters" while wars rage, even funding the very migrant flows that are tearing Europe apart. He asked the question our own leaders never dare: what is the purpose of the UN? The silence that followed was answer enough.

The usual chorus will scream about Trump's tone, his vulgarity, his trespasses against diplomatic etiquette. But here is the real obscenity: Western governments more outraged by Trump's words than by Hamas's crimes; more determined to smear their own people as "far-right" than to defend their borders; more eager to strangle their own energy security than to free themselves from Moscow and Tehran.

That is the crossroads we face. On one side, Starmer and his "progressive coalition," hiding behind platitudes of "unity" while presiding over decline. On the other, the unvarnished truth, shouted rather than whispered, but at least naming the rot for what it is.

You don't have to like Trump to see the point. The man held up a mirror, and what stared back at Europe's leaders was their own cowardice.
