I've decided to leave twitter again. I just don't believe it's helpful for my mental health. I can't afford all the great books that I see. This is my third incarnation on this platform which seemed like a good way of finding history articles, but it's often framed by conflict.
My children have decided not to read any news, because it's not helpful to their state of mind
I think I might try it this week as a New Year's gift to myself. Usually I read the papers every morning. It's not like solutions are forthcoming from the United Nations or anything.
@DavidVeevers1 Everyone is a victim of this conflict. It's terrible. Women and children especially.

@BecWrong It's a simple accident of birth where you were born, what religion you choose etc. It's so so culturally specific. I'm not sure life is that important for any of us actually.
@jdmccafferty One of my favourite 17th century people. He discovered the elliptic orbit of Mars, because it didn't fit his theory of perfection. Of course it's our imperfections that evolve conscious understanding.
@Ctl_Alt_Del Clearing out the gene pool. The more Americans who kill each the better, because at least it stops them breeding. My friend taught me this approach to death. It's helpful.
It's the worst part of modernity, like AI-generating it's non factual writing by learning to plagiarise news content. A general degeneration of our very fabric.
I took a punt and decided to buy a 50s styled dress on line (which I would normally never do). It was a huge mistake. The dress was made from this polyester fake awful fabric and will take 100 years to break down. I think I need to go back to sewing myself asap.
I've actually got this really cute light blue cotton fabric with poodles on it, so I might make a 50s styled dress from that if I have enough material. Mmmmm. The modern world is full of crappy things, badly made.
Sketches by Prince Rupert of the Rhine?
The British Museum holds this sheet addressed to the prince, which seems to be the cover of a letter.
It's possible that Rupert reused the paper to doodle away some of his spare time.

I just woke up and felt really excited about my future. I'm going back to University to do something slightly more practical than a 100,000 word Phd which was super interesting, but unfortunately unsupervised. I'm not making excuses.
My career was derailed by evil criminal types, which I guess is a sort of Australian factor. Now I cross the road if I feel the energy of these people. No evil criminal types are in my life now. In fact mainly no body is in my life at all, hence I have pulled myself up.
