As a woman becomes literate, she realizes she herself can be an agent of change in her community. Literate women act as information conduits to their illiterate friends and are better able to recognize and steer others away from traffickers and other forms of oppression.

While many of the impacts of literacy are well known, an under-publicized problem facing poor and illiterate woman is their lack of confidence and ability to to take care of themselves. As our students grow in their capabilities and individual agency, their confidence blossoms!

Your students are in their seventh month of class! They continue to practice their reading and writing, as well as their multiplication tables. Additionally, this month students are taught about the importance of health check-ups, nutritious food, and prenatal vitamins.
