Nonprofit serving intimate partner violence survivors and
their children in Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Kershaw, and Fairfield
counties; @UnitedWay partner
Each February, people nationwide come together to raise awareness for teens experiencing dating violence. Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month focuses on advocacy and education to stop abuse before it happens. #TDVAM
CURRENT NEED: We are in need of gas cards for the domestic violence survivors we serve. Survivors use gas cards for travelling to counseling, employment, school, the grocery store, daycare, and other appointments. Any amount will make a tremendous difference. #weloveourdonors
Thank you @figcolumbia for highlighting our important Sistercare Teen Outreach Program (S.T.O.P). Educating teens about dating violence and healthy relationships is an important step in stopping the intergenerational cycle of violence. #teendatingviolenceawareness
Sistercare Supporters: We are in need of new pillows for residents at our emergency shelters. Please call 803-926-0505 for drop-off information. We are grateful!
Mother’s Day is often difficult for domestic violence survivors residing in our emergency shelters. We are grateful for our donors and partners, like @rcsd1, who bring thoughtful gifts for the mothers we serve.
The Victims Matter Rally led by @sccadvasa and @scvanlegal was a powerful event that raised awareness about the barriers faced by victims of violent crime in our state. Sistercare representatives were proud to be in attendance. #VictimsMatter#scsaysnomore#standwithsurvivors

Volunteer Spotlight: Gene Washington is a long-time Sistercare volunteer and an accomplished filmmaker and playwright. He says, “More men must work to help abate this violence.” We are grateful for Mr. Washington who has supported Sistercare in many capacities over the years.
Thank you to Modern Woodmen of America for their generous EmpoweRun5k sponsorship! Our first ever 5k event was a huge success thanks to our sponsors. We are continuously in awe of the kindness of those who support survivors of domestic violence and their children.
