Yep. My 98-year-old grandma is ARMY

She loves BTS. She loves their music. She’s found joy, friendship, and a community of people from all over the world who make her feel loved and included

At 98 years old, she’s still finding things that make her happy

And you decided that was something worth making fun of?

Imagine being so bothered by people enjoying music that you have to get on the radio and insult them for it. Meanwhile, ARMY are out here making friendships across countries, supporting charitable causes, celebrating music, and creating memories with people they may have never otherwise met

If loving something that brings people happiness makes us “losers,” then I guess my grandma is one hell of a loser 😂💜

But honestly, I'll take being an ARMY “loser” alongside my 98-year-old grandma over being the person who thinks mocking someone's happiness is a personality

You don't have to like BTS. You don't even have to understand BTS. But you don't get to decide that the joy they bring to people is something to be ashamed of

My grandma found her people

She found her music

She found her family

And at 98, she's still out here being proud to be ARMY

Cambié de teléfono y hace tiempo que no los saludo, pero estoy intentando recuperar mi contraseña de Weverse. He terminado la segunda gira por norteamerica y me estoy recuperando para prepararme para la gira por sudamerica. Como es Chuseok, estoy pasando un momento muy agradable comiendo con mi familia por primera vez en mucho tiempo. Es el momento en que le enseño a mi papá a la fuerza a qué estoy jugando y es muy divertido. Mi padre dice que él también está feliz.

@iHeartRadio Disrespecting the very people who showed up and packed your festival from day one, then calling them “losers” simply because they complained about sound issues — issues that were also pointed out by people outside the fandom — is completely unacceptable. Instead of acknowledging the criticism, explaining what happened, or simply apologizing, you chose to attack the people who attended and supported your event.

But dragging Jungkook into this and mocking his name crosses another line entirely. He traveled nearly 12 hours specifically to perform at your festival, went on stage for barely 15 minutes, and still gave it everything he had as the professional he is. Using his name as a joke when he had absolutely nothing to do with those complaints is incredibly disrespectful. Deliberately mocking a Korean name can also play into racist and xenophobic stereotypes that a media outlet should know better than to normalize.

This is also disrespectful to BTS as a whole. For years, they have always shown nothing but professionalism, kindness, and willingness to participate in iHeartRadio shows and events. Whenever they have been invited, they have given their time and treated everyone with respect. The very least they deserve in return is that same respect.

We demand a public apology from @TheWoodyShow to BTS, and especially to Jungkook, for mocking his name. We also expect iHeartRadio to address what happened and take it seriously. Criticism about problems at an event can be addressed and explained. Insulting your own audience and turning one of the artists who showed up for your festival into the punchline is not an acceptable response.
